Stann Loses Decision

02/08/2010

Brian Stann lost a unanimous decision to Phil Davis at UFC 109 last Saturday. The larger Davis was able to use his wrestling skills to repeatedly put Brian on his back and control the fight from there. Despite being the smaller of the two fighters and spending much of the fight in bad positions, Stann valiantly fought on and survived, looking for opportunities to turn the fight in his favor. Brian will certainly learn from this fight, continue to improve his game, and be ready for his next call to arms!

Stann Brings Big Guns Against Zellner!

06/04/2007

“All American” Brian Stann won a silver star for extraordinary heroism while leading a Marine platoon fighting in Iraq in 2005. If he continues as he has been in mixed martial arts, he soon may wear the gold of a championship belt. Stann was impressive Sunday in his biggest pro fight, stopping former WWE star Craig Zellner at 4:57 of the first round of a light heavyweight bout at the Hard Rock Hotel. The victory improved Stann to an undefeated 4-0, all by first round KO. Stann and Zellner spent most of the round trading punches, but Stann was both quicker and the harder puncher. He knocked Zellner down after a back-and-forth exchange and went to the ground-and-pound. "I hit him and I saw his head kind of wobble," Stann said. "I knew I had stunned him before, and I figured, 'Hey, this is the time. Suck it up. Put him out. Win the fight right now.' That's what I did."

Stann vs. Zellner!

05/01/2007

“All American” Brian Stann will put his undefeated record on the line against his toughest opponent yet, WEC veteran Craig Zellner at World Extreme Cagefighting 28 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on June 3. Zellner is a former Heavyweight looking to move down to make his run at the Light Heavyweight Championship. Expect this fight to put one of these caged combatants in line for a title shot, one that Brian plans to be holding very soon.

Brian will be dedicating this fight to United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Travis Manion. Travis was leading and training an Iraqi Army unit during his second tour of Iraq, when he was shot in the chest in the Al Anbar Province on April 29, 2007. Travis was a hero in every sense of the word and comes from a family of USMC officers from Doylestown, PA. Travis was a Division 1 wrestler at the United States Naval Academy and Brian’s first training partner and dear friend. Our hearts go out to Travis and his family during this difficult time.
